Upon your arrival, you will have a glass of Cava and check in at the hotel. You will also be given a welcome pack. For the self-guided tour, the welcome pack will include detailed information for the tour, contact details for Bainton Bikes, maps, and recommendations for points of interest and restaurants to visit during the tours. Key locations will also be included on the detailed road maps.

Day 1

On your first day, you will explore the wonderful city of Oxford, sharing the extensive history and some hidden gems. You will visit historic Oxford University colleges, the famous Bodleian library and take a stroll around the Victorian covered market. At lunchtime, you will enjoy a leisurely punt, and a picnic on the river, with delicious fresh food from the local area. You end the day in a beautiful rural environment near North Leigh for your overnight stop at the grand Eynsham Hall.

Day 2

On your second day, you will cycle through the picturesque villages of the Cotswolds. With architecture dating as far back as the 11th century, you will traverse the ancient trade routes towards Bourton-on-the-water also known as “the Venice of the Cotswolds”, stopping for a relaxed riverside lunch along the way.

Day 3

On day three, you will ride deeper into the heart of the Cotswolds experiencing the outstanding natural beauty and historical wonders dating back to Saxon time. After a magnificent lunch at the revered Hollow Bottom Inn, you will make your way through Chipping Camden famed for the most desirable high street in England and onwards to your final destination, Moreton-in-Marsh.

Day 4

Day four will see you leaving behind the rolling hills of the Cotswolds as you venture through the rural farming communities heading towards Shakespeare’s Country. After passing through the quaint and traditional farming villages, you will make your way into the famous town of Stratford-upon-Avon along an off-road cycleway. You will arrive with plenty of time to explore the place where William Shakespeare once called home.

Day 5

On the fifth day, you leave behind Stratford-upon-Avon and venture back into the Cotswolds, exploring traffic-free routes, Tudor villages, buildings left by the Normans and traditional Cotswold villages on the way. The final destination for the day is the village of Kingham, which boasts one of the best restaurants in the Cotswolds. Tonight is a night to relax and enjoy award-winning cuisine.

Day 6

On the sixth day, you will experience the last stunning views from the Cotswolds whilst riding your way back into Oxfordshire, along the way you’ll stop in a very small village with a fabulous 16th-century pub offering freshly prepared meals using locally sourced produce. After lunch we head along an off-road track which takes you directly into your destination for the evening, Woodstock giving you plenty of time to explore the picturesque 11th-century market town. Also located in the town is the stately home of Blenheim Palace, which with its 2000 acres of gardens and marvelous architecture offers a fantastic experience.
