Road Cycling Tour in Italy

Nestled in the Friulian Alps, the territory of the greatest stages of the Giro d’Italia, Carnia, the world heritage of road cycling, will be the stage of this week "only for six cyclists". Set between Carinthia and Cadore, this marvelous mountain community is well known for its 49 majestic climbs among the hardest of the UCI circuit: Zoncolan and Crostis! You will also discover its food and wine through the wonderful seven valleys, immersed in a green emerald scenery, which you will admire by staying in six beautiful "apartments suites" reserved only for BIKE DIVISION’s cyclists.

During the holiday, you will stay in Pendenze Pericolose Residence, a wonderful accommodation overlooking the But River valley, facing Monte Zoncolan and Monte Crostis, just 18 kilometers from the Austrian border. Enough to describe these beautiful superior apartments that host cyclists and their families from all over the world! With a splendid decor, a mix between mountain and modern furniture, all the accommodations are about 80 to 100 square meters, and have a comfortable fully equipped kitchen with thermal induction hobs, and large bedrooms with 32-inch LCD TVs.


Day 1: Check in at The Residence

Wonderful accommodation facing Monte Zoncolan and Monte Crostis, just 18 kilometers from the Austrian border.

Day 2: Monte Croce Pass Carnico & Passo Pramollo

Over 100 kilometers crossing the Italy-Austria border twice, climbing two wonderful climbs like Passo Monte Croce Carnico that will make you live the memories of the great war in its 16 kilometers, and Passo Pramollo with its 11 kilometers with slopes often above 10%.

Day 3: Passo Pura (Giro 2014) / Casera Razzo (Giro 2014) / Ravascletto (Giro 2018)

Passing through the stage of the Giro 2014, you will cross the most beautiful villages of Carnia through wonderful lakes and enchanting villages. The first climb will be the Passo del Purte with its 9 kilometers, to reach the 1500 meters at 8.7% average, then you’ll keep going passing by the wonderful Lake Sauris up to Casera Razzo at 1900 meters, then finally go down to Val Pesarina ready to attack the last fatigue of the day: Ravascletto.

Day 4: Venzone Lago di Cavazzo / Venzone Gemona

Rest day – you'll be visiting the wisely restructured towns after the earthquake of 1976, that in 2017 have been awarded as the most beautiful villages in Italy: Venzone and Gemona, passing through the wonderful Cavazzo.

Day 5: Sella Chianzutan (Giro 2017) / Crostis (Giro 2011)

After a long climb, you’ll be up to Sella Chianzutan. Then the Monte Crostis, one of the most spectacular and fearsome climbs of Friuli with its 14.5 kilometers.

Day 6: Salino Passo Duron (Giro 2018) / Ravascletto (tour 2018) Zoncolan 80km 2400 mt

Today’s judgment day! You will ride to Monte Zoncolan! The most challenging climb in the world, 10 kilometers long with 6 to 15% average.

Day 7: Sella Nevea Mangart Tarvisio Chiusaforte

You will go to face one of the most beautiful climbs in Europe, the Mangart, crossing the Slovenian borders. With its 11.5 kilometers, reaching at an altitude of 2100 meters, the Mangart can be called the queen of the week for its beauty! An authentic monolith stone... enjoy climbing it meter by meter!

Day 8: Departure

This is the end of the tour.

Included excursions

During the tour, you will enjoy real "experiences" that will make you ride through wonderful views and taste the best food and wine of the territory, in a world heritage location for cycling.

The last itinerary of the week includes the climb to the Zoncolan. All six itineraries will be studied with attention to detail, providing the highest level of service for cyclists.

Lunch break will be in unique environments. Cyclists will eat in farms and factories at 1600 meters altitude and will have the possibility to drink freshly brewed craft beer.
