Accommodation

During this tour, you will be accommodated at various hotels and the majority of them are four-star. The hotels emphasize quality and are hand-picked, tried, and tested. Program

In this tour, no day is planned to start earlier than 09:00 or finish later than 17:00. You start the week with an evening in Venice and so it is a good idea to arrive early on Saturday to absorb the atmosphere of this great city. The tour starts with a fairly flat 79-mile cycling and finishing at the university town of Ferrara before heading into the Apennines.

The 35-kilometer climb to Passo della Raticosa with a maximum gradient of nine percent is the undoubted highlight of these mountains (the average gradient is four percent), although the views from the top and the steep descent afterward are pretty special. You then visit a string of celebrated medieval Tuscan cities as you breeze your way across this beautiful land before a fairly quiet final day following the river into the majestic city of Florence to celebrate the week.

On the road, an Italian-speaking expert guide will lead the route and allow you to enjoy the stunning route. The guide will take you to the best refueling stops for coffee and lunch, call up the support vehicle if required, and generally look after you.

Itinerary

Upon arrival at Venice Marco Polo Airport (VCE), you will be met by a representative from Blue Sky Cycle Tours. Afterward, there will be an afternoon / evening excursion in the famous city. Then, a full tour briefing takes place after the welcome meal in readiness for the grand depart the following morning.

The day starts with a relaxed breakfast. Coffee and lunch stops will be taken each day en route. Every evening, there will be a briefing for the next day's ride.

Blue Sky Cycle Tours plans to celebrate your arrival in Florence with a cold beer (other beverages will be available). Celebrations continue into the evening before the short transfer to Florence Airport (FLR) the following day or stay longer if you wish to visit the museums, cafes, and other tourist attractions.
