Depart to a trip that will introduce you to the ancient and wild spirit of Sardinia, from the silent landscapes of the inland areas of one of the ancient sub-regions Marmilla to the sound of the waves and the scents and colors of the Mediterranean coasts. Through road bike, grab this chance to discover the many faces of this beautiful island.
You will be provided seven nights of accommodation on this cycling holiday. On the first night, you will stay in Cagliari, and on the second night, you will stay in Barumini. The third and fourth nights will be spent near San Salvatore di Sinis, while the fifth night will be spent at Torre dei Corsari. On the sixth night, you will stay in Portoscuso, and on the seventh night, you will stay in Cagliari.
You will be arriving in Cagliari, and your accommodation, located in the historical center of the city, will certainly not fail to charm you. In the afternoon, you will be meeting with the Ichnusabike staff for a briefing.
You will be journeying from the hinterland of Cagliari to the lesser-known Sardinia, within which lay delightful hidden landscapes and historical sites, like the Menhir di Goni Nuragic Fortress that you can visit just before arrival at your hotel in Barumini.
After breakfast, a stage that starts from the sub-region of Marmilla and passes through the villages of a little-known area of Sardinia will take you near San Salvatore di Sinis, a small village near Cabras that comes to life during the religious festival of the eponymous saint. The sea is just a few kilometers from your hotel.
You can spend the entire day at the beach, or you can visit all that this territory has to offer on your trusted bicycle. Experience delights from enogastronomy with wine, bottarga, and other typical crafts, as well as the culture with Tharros and the museum of Cabras along with the archaeological finds from the area among which the Giants of Monti Prama decidedly stand out.
You will go from the flat landscapes of the Sinis Peninsula to the spectacular Costa Verde and to the majestic dunes of Torre dei Corsari where you will spend the night. It is a long but not too demanding route which, before returning to the coast, will take you to a visit once again to a little-known part of Sardinia far from the famous spots with which the island is often associated.
You will be taken from the sea of Costa Verde up to Sulcis in the most challenging stage of this tour. The tour will be from Torre dei Corsari to Portoscuso, passing through Montevecchio, Cala Domestica, Nebida, and the Faraglione del Pan di Zucchero. A stretch of coast, with little traffic and full of breathtaking landscapes, will recount to you the epic of the mining age, of which this area was the main district.
After breakfast, this final stage of the tour will take you from Portoscuso to Nora. Leaving your hotel, you will continue south until you reach St. Anna Aresi and Teulada and continue following the landscapes along the southern coast of Sardinia.
A sequence of beaches, landscapes, and roads will not fail to fascinate you. In the late afternoon, you will meet the Ichnusa Bike representatives and be transferred to Cagliari for the last night of this tour.
After breakfast, the tour officially comes to an end. If you have time, do not miss a visit to Cagliari and its historic neighborhoods.
