During this cycling holiday, you will be staying in double rooms in small hotels, agriturismo, or typical bed and breakfasts.

Night one will be spent in Olbia

Relax in Bitti on night two.

Get some shut-eye in Oliena on night three.

Doze off in Fonni on night four.

Enjoy Seui on night five.

Get comfortable in Villasalto on night six.

Have a well-earned rest in Cagliari on night seven.

Day 1: Arrival in Olbia

You will have an independent arrival at the hotel near Olbia. In the evening, you will meet with the Ichnusabike staff, have a bike check-up, and enjoy dinner and your overnight stay.

Day 2: Olbia to Bitti (46 miles / 74 kilometer - total ascent of 1,800 meters / 5,906 feet)

Along the road of the pilgrims and the ancient livestock tracks, you will leave the Emerald Coast behind and reach the great plateau of Alà dei Sardi where the silence reigns and you will be able to see the vast spaces that will be your landmarks during the trip. In the evening, you will reach a little farm shelter where you will be able to taste the typical cuisine of the island.

Day 3: Bitti to Oliena (34 miles / 55 kilometers - total ascent of 1,050 meters / 3,445 feet)

Through a forest of oaks, you will reach the sacred Nuragic well of Su Tempiesu through may uphills and downhills. You will reach the hotel in Oliena at the foot of the Supramonte mountains and have a good nights’ rest before facing one of the toughest laps of Transardinia.

Day 4: Oliena to Fonni (33 miles / 53 kilometers - total ascent of 1,700 meters / 5,577 feet)

Day four will definitely be the toughest day as far as the road surface is concerned but also the most exciting!

The climb towards the Supramonte will seem endless but the view of the valley from above will pay back the effort and allow you to admire an uncontaminated and wild environment. After leaving the Supramonte, you will go towards the agriturismo where, as usual, you will rest and chat around the fireplace after dinner.

Day 5: Fonni to Seui (47 miles / 75 kilometers - total ascent of 1,900 meters / 6,233 feet)

On day five, you will climb the mount Bruncu Spina. Reaching the peak of the highest mountain of the island, the conditions will tend to get quite extreme but once on top, you will be rewarded by the spectacular view that will reach from the mountains of Corsica to the Gulf of Cagliari.

Along the way, on the other side of Gennargentu, you will visit the ruins of the Nuragic village of Ruinas and admire the rock of Perda Liana. After a few more kilometers, you will reach Seui, a small village which still offers to its visitors a glimpse of past traditions.

Day 6: Seui to Villasalto (53 miles / 86 kilometers - total ascent of 1,600 meters / 5,249 feet)

There will be no respite and more uphill on day six! You will start along an old mule track that was also used in the past centuries by the women who used to go to the river to do the washing. From there, you will cross the desert plateau of Salto di Quirra. After which, you will continue downhill towards Villasalto where the unfailing typical cuisine will restore you and prepare you for the last lap of the journey.

Day 7: Villasalto to Cagliari (53 miles / 86 kilometers - total ascent of 900 meters / 2,953 feet)

It is the last stage! After breakfast, you should have time to visit a small local liquor distillery that produces excellent myrtle or "mirto" liquor. Lastly, you will pass round Monte Genis to take in an almost North–African countryside of unrivaled beauty.

Soon, you will soon be able to see the Gulf of Cagliari and finally, the bikes will lead you to the sea. You will have a well-earned rest by the beach and transfer to the hotel. Until you meet again for the next adventure!

Day 8: Departure day

After breakfast, it will be the end of the team’s services. You will say your farewells and prepare for departure. You can also request that you extend your stay to enjoy a few days of relaxation by the sea.

Bike information (MTB Trek XCaliber9)

It is a fully race-ready cross-country mountain bike built with parts designed to compete. A RockShox Recon RL fork with remote lockout, a Shimano drivetrain, and a wide-range cassette make it a great choice for fast single-track riders who want a great bike that is ready to race straight out of the box.
