Accommodation

Chalet La Perle de L’Oisans is situated on the mountainside facing the Grandes Rousses mountain chain. Each of the 11 comfortable and spacious apartments have a fireplace and large south-facing balcony where you can enjoy the sunshine and admire the exceptional views of the Eau d’Olle Valley, Grandes Rousses mountain chain and La Fare waterfall.

The chalet is surrounded by a large private garden with free access to a mini golf, barbecue, solarium, petanque bowls, ponies.

La Perle de l’Oisans provides the tools to repair your bike and wash your bike, as well as secure storage for your gear.

Pets

Pets are welcome at Chalet La Perle de l’Oisans and in the gardens of the property. Enjoy fresh air, nature, and romp in the closed fields of our grounds. In order to ensure no future guest suffers from allergies, we request that you use our full apartment clean option at the end of your stay.

Itinerary

Day 1

Full breakfast, group ride (groups are split according to their levels), run, picnic lunch, downtime, recovery yoga session and an evening meal.

Day 2

Full breakfast, group ride (groups are split according to their levels), lunch, trail run and an open water swim.

Day 3

Full breakfast, a long group ride, lunch, a recovery hike (optional) and a barbecue evening meal.

Day 4

You will enjoy breakfast, a swim / aquabike, a recovery hike (optional), and lunch.

Bike route

La Perle de l’Oisans Ironman certified coach, Yohann Vincent, determines the bike routes according to participants' levels and their preparation for the TIME Triathlon Alpe D'Huez.

Day 1

For the athletes preparing the short distance triathlon

Recon of the race route (30 kilometers - approximately 2 hours). Upon arrival in Alpe d'Huez at the Sports Center, you run the short distance race route of 7km. After a quick lunch, you can either ride the return route to Vaujany (24 kilometers and 1.5 hours) on your road bike or with one of our E-bikes. You also have the possibility of returning in the SAG van. The full ride including the return to Vaujany is 54 kilometers in approximately 3.5 hours with a total positive climb of 2,372 meters. Upon arrival at the Chalet you are offered an optional one hour yoga recovery session.

For the athletes preparing the long distance triathlon

Recon of the race route (122 kilometers - approximately 6-7 hours). Upon arrival in Alpe d'Huez at the Sports Center, we run the race route of 7km and add in an additional 3km as additional training. After a quick lunch, you can either ride the return route to Vaujany (24 kilometers and 1.5 hours) on your road bike or with one of our E-bikes. You also have the possibility of returning in the SAG van The full ride with the return via Villard Reculas is 146 kilometers in approximately 7-8 hours with a total positive climb of 4,100 meters. Upon arrival at the Chalet you are offered an optional one hour yoga recovery session.

Day two

Three-hour ride with the route selected based on levels of fatigue and skill. Examples of routes ridden in the past are: La Bérard, Balcony roads of Auris, Col du Sabot, Croix de Fer (the choice will also depend on the weather). You are provided SAG assistance and E-bikes as a possibility. You follow the ride with a trail run session for one to one and a half hours according to triathlon distance followed by an open water swim session. The swim session is one to one and a half hours in open water - the practice includes open water skills drills and 2,000 - 3,500-meter swim.

Day three

Four to five hour 100-kilometer bike ride depending on levels (the route will be selected based on levels of fatigue and skill). Upon return, enjoy an optional recovery hike to the La Fare Waterfall (approximately 45 minutes to an hour). You are also provided an optional yoga recovery session. Evening barbeque together on the terrace overlooking the valley.

Day four

Two hour - Full breakfast, swim / aquabike brick workout, recovery hike (optional) and lunch.

Note: You have the possibility of having a group video created by a professional drone video/photographer.

SAG assistance

La Perle de l’Oisans provides transfers with either pick-up and/or drop-off possibilities for you and your luggage. The optional catered SAG assistance is unlike any other and provides E-bikes for any members accompanying the group who would like to join the rides.

Bike rental

La Perle de l’Oisans has an agreement with a local bike shop - Cycles et Sports - you can have a 8% discount on all the bike rentals when entering the code 'LAPERLE' on their website. Clients can reserve and choose their bikes on the Huez Bike Hire website. Ideally you can call the shop to discuss your specific needs.

Vaujany Village
