Program

Day 1: Vilafranca del Penedès - El Pla del Penedès

The starting point of this holiday will be at Cicles Sans - Specialized Concept Store. Today’s tour will take you ahead of the cellars of Colet and Parés Baltà, available for a visit, to El Pla del Penedès through La Múnia, where you can stop to know the story of a dream, Terra de Marca. From there, you will go to Sant Martí Sarroca. There, the Monumental Rock awaits.

LetsVelo aims a rise of nine kilometers to the upper Font-rubí. The highest part, called the Balcony of the Penedès, will give you a view of the flatland before starting the descent to Guardiola. For the last kilometers, a mosaic of vineyards and wooded streams await you in this journey filled with small caves, scattered farmhouses, and churches that make up the essence of the region.

Day 2: El Pla del Penedès - Vilafranca del Penedès

From El Pla del Penedès, you will continue in the direction of Sant Sadurní d'Anoia through a section of the Barcelona 1992 Summer Olympics road cycling circuit. For those who want a visit to the Jean Leon winery, the place will surprise you with its spectacular wine experiences.

At Capital of Cava, it is essential to stop to visit one of their cellars. LetsVelo recommends the impressive modernist Cavas Codorniu (an Artistic Historical Monument), to live an exciting journey to the origins of cava. Then, you’ll go on a flat walk to the Romanesque monastery of Sant Sebastià dels Gorgs (an 11th century and declared of National Interest). The painted vineyard and spectacular views of Montserrat mountains in the background will be the main view of the last kilometers.

  • Accommodation: B&B Wine and Cooking Penedès
  • Gradient: 820 meters
  • Level: daily distance between 40 - 60 kilometers (24 - 37.5 miles) for people who are fit and weekly pedal or practice other sports

Notes: You can upgrade your tour with a support and provisioning van. You can also upgrade it by adding a shower access at Complex Aquatic de Vilafranca del Penedès.

Bike

A big part of what makes a good route is the bicycle. So, LetsVelo relies on excellence and collaboration of Cicles Sans - Specialized Concept Store for their routes. Collection and delivery of bicycles are available on request.

Tarmac SL4

The Tarmac doesn’t do one thing well, it does everything exceptionally - which is why it’s been ridden to victory in all three Grand Tours. The Tarmac’s advanced materials add a modern edge to the lively character of a classic race bike, while its Rider-First Engineered design ensures that the Tarmac sprints, corners, and descends with uniform excellence across every size.

Roubaix SL4

Named for one of the sport’s most storied and demanding races, the Roubaix is built to excel on the worst roads and in nasty conditions. Smoother is faster, so the Roubaix’s carbon construction is designed to maximize vertical compliance, while Zertz inserts and a CG-R seatpost work to absorb road chatter. To make the Roubaix feels stable and comfortable on the longest of rides, the frame is built with the endurance geometry.

Amira

Sure, you train hard and eat right, but there’s just one thing missing - an edge. The Amira gives you two. First, there’s the performance edge you get from its FACT carbon frame and tapered head tube. The combination results in responsive handling and true get-up-and-go accelerations. Then comes the psychological edge - the feeling that, when teamed up with a lightweight, high-performance machine, there’s no limit to what you can achieve together.
