You will start your adventure in Malta from the right base. You will stay at Basecamp, MC Adventure's spacious and fully detached three-story villa just outside St Julian’s. You can enjoy a private freshwater swimming pool, surrounding garden, and barbecue terrace with free Wi-Fi. You will be staying with like-minded people, all out to explore the adventurous side of the Maltese islands. This is why MC Adventure calls it Basecamp.

Basecamp is a five-minute walking distance from the main bus station, 10 minutes from the nearest beach, and eight minutes from the center of entertainment. It is located next to the main trunk roads, which leads north to the best beaches and south to the cliffs and valleys where mountain bikers, trekkers, and climbers find their happiness!

The atmosphere at Basecamp is relaxed, comfortable, and welcoming to everyone. There are 12 bedrooms (including seven bedrooms with ensuite shower rooms and four bedrooms with air-conditioners at extra charge). The common areas are a great place to meet and chat about your adventures with ample room, comfortable loungers, and space to chill both inside and out.

All the rooms are based on doubles. Some of them have a private bathroom.

Program

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival day

You will arrive at Malta International Airport (MLA) where MC Adventure's taxi will take you to your accommodation near St Julian’s. You will be greeted at the accommodation by their house manager to show you your rooms and facilities. You will also be given some details about the trip. If time allows, you can discover Malta’s nightlife in the nearby shopping, dining, and music area of Paceville.

Day 2: Malta cycling day

  • Distance: 15 miles / 25 kilometers

During this day, you will see the beautiful Buskett Gardens, which is the greenest place on the island, and the Dingli Cliffs, which will offer you a beautiful sea view. You will also be driving on the coast road up to the Għajn Tuffieħa Tower. This route will offer you some incredible views. By taking minor roads, country footpaths, and off-road trails, you can explore the forgotten valleys and scenic routes of the island.

Day 3: Gozo Cycling Day (Mġarr, Gozo - Ta’ Pinu - Mġarr)

  • Level: Moderate
  • Distance: 19 miles / 30 kilometers

Your guide(s) will meet you at your accommodation in the morning to take you biking on Malta’s sister island, Gozo. During this biking session, you will see Gozo and her beautiful nature, culture, history, beaches, and countryside, from the picturesque harbor of Mġarr to the famous Ta’ Pinu sanctuary.

You will bike along the shoreline of Marsalforn Bay and the salt panes before enjoying a ride through Għasri valley. You will then visit Ta’ Pinu sanctuary. It is believed that in 1883, Our Lady appeared to a country woman. Finally, you can enjoy a spectacular view from the top of the hill, just opposite the sanctuary.

Day 4: Climbing day

Your guide(s) will meet you at your accommodation in the morning to take you climbing at the spectacular location of Żurrieq near the famous Blue Grotto. This is a delightful valley and one of the premier climbing spots. This is probably the greatest variety of routes, both in terms of grade and type on the main island.

There are easy and hard slabs, vicious bulges and power routes, even a Yosemite-type roof crack. There are routes on both sides of the valley, making it an ideal place to choose whether to climb in the shade or the sun - just cross the valley to chase or avoid the sun.

Day 5: Departure

If time allows, before your flight, this is a final day to enjoy the island before departing Malta. You will be transferred to Malta International Airport (MLA) with MC Adventure's taxi when you are ready.
