Accommodation

During this cycling holiday, you may choose to stay in either a double or single room in four-star hotels. All accommodations are well-selected and there are spacious family rooms with two sleeping rooms on request as well as gardens.

You will stay at Hotel Hollweger in St. Gilgen on nights one, two, and three.

Enjoy Hotel Agathawirt in Bad Goisern on night four to seven.

Program

Day 1: Individual arrival in Lake Wolfgangsee

Check-in and you will arrange the travel documents for your bike tour. The rented bikes will also be handed over, if you have booked. In the afternoon, take your time exploring the beautiful surroundings. In the evening of the first cycling tour, you may enjoy a leisurely stroll along the lakeside. You will stay in St. Gilgen.

Day 2: St. Gilgen – Abersee – St. Gilgen (approximately 6 miles / 10 kilometers)

You will start the day with cycling from St. Gilgen to the theme park, Abarena, offering numerous attractions, games, and construction activities. It will definitely be a lot of fun for the whole family. Then, you will enjoy a boat trip towards St. Gilgen with its famous and magnificent view onto St. Wolfgang's silhouette, its unique colors, blue sky, and turquoise water.

Day 3: Cycling tour St. Gilgen – St. Wolfgang – St. Gilgen (approximately 9 miles / 15 kilometers) and excursion up to Mt. Schafberg

The day's motto is “reaching for the stars!” After a short cycling tour to Strobl, you will enjoy a rapid toboggan run and continue on the cycle path to St. Wolfgang.

You will stroll through its picturesque village and go up Mt. Schafberg with Austria's steepest cogwheel railway with full steam before you return with the Schafbergbahn and by boat to St. Gilgen.

Day 4: Excursion with your own car to Bad Goisern (approximately 17 miles / 28 kilometers by own car)

On day four, you will have a lie-in taking your time before you head off with your own car to Bad Goisern. The team will transport the rented bikes for your cycling tour to the next accommodation. You may visit the family theme park, “Forest of Primitive Times” in Gosau, the fascinating cages of Mt. Dachstein, or the spa resort in Bad Ischl, a highlight for those who love swimming and wellness.

Day 5: Cycling tour around Lake Hallstätter See (approximately 12 miles / 20 kilometers)

The section of your cycle route will take you along the sunny eastern banks, one of Salzkammergut's most beautiful cycle paths which is great for kids offering stops for a swim along the way. You will cycle to Hallstatt Bahnstation then go by boat to Markt Hallstatt.

You will continue on the cycle path via Lahn und Winkel to Obertraun. You will return along the eastern banks free of traffic back to Bad Goisern. Enjoy a break on Gasthof Seeraunzn's sun terrace directly by the lake, offering a magnificent view onto UNESCO's World Heritage, Hallstatt.

Day 6: Excursion to Hallstatt Salt World (approximately 7 miles / 12 kilometers with your own car)

On day six, you will visit the legendary “man in the salt,” in the world’s oldest salt mine where you will experience 7,000 years of salt mining, promising a special time travel. Your kids will love the wooden slide. Do not miss strolling through Hallstatt’s picturesque village. You may also want to enjoy a delicious “reinanke” fish from Lake Hallstätter See.

Day 7: Cycling tour to Bad Ischl (approximately 15 miles / 24 kilometers)

You will leave the mountain range of UNESCO's World Heritage region, cycling along the cycle path leisurely besides River Traun to Bad Ischl, the former imperial town with Emperor Franz Joseph's summer residence and working place of many artists which offers culture, culinary, and history.

Café Zauner awaits you with a sweet surprise for your kids, motivating them for a stroll through the beautiful town.

Day 8: Departure day

On day eight, you will have an individual departure or you may avail extra nights for the trip.
