During this cycling holiday, you will stay in three or four-star boutique inns and resorts. You may also avail a single supplement room. Pedalers rely on a carefully-vetted network of beautiful, full-service accommodations to round out every tour. Pedalers Pub & Grille chooses local, independently-owned establishments in prime locations, steering away from forgettable franchises and over-the-top luxury resorts.

The overnight stays strike a rare balance between cultural authenticity and modern luxury. Whether you stop near the ruins of an ancient city or in a tranquil Buddhist paradise, you can still expect en-suite bathrooms, hot showers, friendly and helpful staff, and unforgettable food. Most of the accommodations have Wi-Fi.

Relax in Candi Dasa on nights one and two.

Unwind in Amed on night three.

Doze off in Lovina on night four and five.

Make Buleleng your home on night six.

Have a well-earned rest in Ubud on night eight.

You will begin the bike tour in Candi Dasa, tucked away on the eastern beaches, where the warmup ride explores ancient cave and carvings. From there, you will enjoy a ride along the eastern and northern beaches, stopping to explore ancient temple complexes, strolling along black sand beaches, and enjoying nature's beauty. You will explore villages off the beaten tourist track and relax on the beachfront for most evenings.

The later leg will head into the center of the island, exploring the scenic lakes tucked under towering volcanoes and visiting temples dating back to the 11th Century perched on the rims of active calderas. You can relax on the shore of a lake inside the volcano's crater, the swoop back down the mountainside to Ubud. It will be a delightful bike tour through the land of fables and gods.

Day 1: Meet in Bali, transfer to Candi Dasa

Your group will meet at Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS), get set up with your bike for the tour, then transfer to the fishing village of Candi Dasa, tucked away on the eastern seaboard. The team will start its introduction to Balinese cuisine by bringing you to a local seafood restaurant where you will enjoy bounty fresh from the sea. Dinner will be provided.

Day 2: Cycle to the Goa Gajah Cave and witness rock carvings of Yeh Pulu before relaxing on the beachside (47 miles / 75 kilometers)

You will warm up with a ride into the foothills, stopping to explore Goa Gajah, the elephant cave and the rock carvings of Yeh Pulu, some of Bali's oldest. You could possibly take a side trip to visit Tenganan, a Bali Aga village that still follows the traditional ways. You will cycle through a flat terrain. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided.

Day 3: Discover traditional ways in the Aga village in Tenganan and explore the water palace of Taman Ujung and salt farms of Amed (31 miles / 50 kilometers)

It will be a short day of cycling with some moderate climbs. You will start along quiet side roads skirting between the ocean and Mount Lempuyang. You will visit Taman Ujung, one of Bali's renowned "water palaces" and Amed's salt farms before reaching the hotel perched on the hillside with dramatic views of the ocean. The waters around Amed are well known to divers, with a popular local dive to see the wreck of the USS Liberty. You will encounter small hills along the way. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided.

Day 4: Check out the Pura Meduwe Karang Temple with its statues and "historic" carving of a man on a bike (44 miles / 71 kilometers)

It will be a leisurely day, cycling the north shore of Bali with its black sand beaches tucked away in quiet coves. You will visit the ancient temple complex of Pura Meduwe Karang with its Ramayana sculptures and relief carving of a man riding a bicycle. You will stay overnight in Lovina, a beach town whose name means "I love Indonesia." You will be riding on a flat terrain. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided.

Day 5: Cycle to West Bali National Park for wildlife viewing (48 miles / 77 kilometers)

You will enjoy a day trip by bike on day five, pedaling to the western end of the island along the flat coastal roads. The goal is West Bali National Park, known for its diverse bird population as well as deer, banteng, and leopard Cats. You will be shuttled back to Lovina for a second night. You will be riding on a flat terrain. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided.

Day 6: Hike to Gitgit and Munduk Waterfalls and relax in the hills overlooking rice paddies and lush valleys

It will be a laid back day without cycling. You will first shuttle up into the volcanic enter of the island, stopping to hike to Gitgit Waterfalls and through the surrounding forests. At lunch, you will reach the resort tucked away in a tiny village with dramatic views overlooking the north side of the island. Relax in the poolside or walk around the village to explore. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided.

Day 7: Bike through Jati Luwih rice terraces and downhill to the Tanah Lot Temple (53 miles / 85 kilometers)

You will roll through the beautiful vistas of the Jati Luwih Rice Terraces, an area that gets featured in many photographers works. For fans of the movie the Bucket List, you will pass several small shops selling Kopi Luwak. You will descend to the coast where you will enjoy views of the Tanah Lot Temples sitting above the crashing waves, perhaps catching an awesome sunset, before shuttling into Ubud for the night. You will cycle downhill. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided.

Day 8: Day off from the bikes for whitewater rafting and exploring Ubud

Your bikes will get the day off as you switch gear and enjoy some whitewater rafting through the deep gorges surrounding Ubud. You have the afternoon free to explore this artist's town and shop for Balinese handicrafts and art or perhaps try your hand at creating Balinese cuisine with a cooking class. You will wind down an awesome ride through paradise with a great dinner at one of the favorite restaurants. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be provided.
