During this holiday, you will stay overnight at deluxe four-star hotels and a winery or guest house. In Hungary, these are great values with a number of deluxe amenities. All accommodations include private bathrooms and a variety of other services. You will stay at Oliva Hotel in Veszprém on day one, spend the second and third nights at Anna Grand Hotel in Balatonfüred, relax after a long day four in Gergely Winery Bed and Breakfast in Szentantalfa, take a well sleep on the next two days at Hotel Neptun in Badacsony, and your last night at Hotel Moments in Budapest.

Your tour starts as you arrive in Veszprém, the city of queens. Your hotel is located near the castle and the Old Town. You will explore the town and discover the Saint Michael Chapel, where several Hungarian queens have been crowned. Dinner will be at Oliva Restaurant, a highly-rated authentic Hungarian restaurant.
After the breakfast, you will begin your first ride toward Lake Balaton. You will ride through charming villages and along the lake itself. Your lunch will be at a fisherman's house in Balatonalmádi. Your friend, Joseph, a much-awarded local cook, will prepare traditional Hungarian dishes for you over on an open fire in a traditional pot called "a bogrács".
After the lunch, you will trade your bikes for kayaks and enjoy a relaxing paddle along the lakeshore with views of ancient lakefront vineyards. Your hotel for the night is located in Balatonfüred, the capital of Lake Balaton. Balatonfüred is known for its history, culture, wine, and hospitality. Your dinner will be at a small bistro that fuses traditional flavors with modern techniques.
Today you will be fully immersed in Hungarian history and culture as you explore the Tihany Peninsula and its Benedict Abbey, a UNESCO World Heritage site. You will enjoy a relaxing ride in the morning, followed by a hike along the western edge of the peninsula with spectacular views. After hiking, you will have another special picnic lunch with Joseph. A wine tasting and dinner will be at Koczor Winery.
Today starts with a short bike ride to Fövenyes and the Skrabski Winery. Today's private lunch will once again be prepared by Joseph and will include unique homemade dishes and a tasting of more top-quality local wines. After the lunch, you will hike into the Nivegy Valley with amazing views of the lake.
Tonight, you will be staying at a very special bed and breakfast lodge on the top of the Saint Balázs mountain. Your dinner will be a very special experience including local foods will be slow cooking in an outside oven well before your arrival. In case you were wondering if this experience could be any better, the bed and breakfast lodge is also an operating winery.
After the breakfast, you will start the day with an easy bike ride to Zánka. Here you will leave the bike and start a 20-kilometer journey on the water by kayak enjoying spectacular views on the north shore of the lake. Along the way, you will stop at some beaches where cold beer and delicious food await you for lunch.
Your destination is Badacsony, a region famous for its one-thousand-year history of wine-making. Your hotel is just a few hundred meters from the beach. Another dinner of authentically rich flavors awaits you, accompanied by the world-class wines only found in this region.
Today's bike route will take you by extinct volcanoes in the heart of the Balaton Uplands National Park. You will ride hidden roads through charming little villages like Szigliget, Hegymagas, and Nemesgulács. Your lunch will be at the Eszterházy wine cellar and, of course, will include a wine tasting.
After the lunch, you will hike to an 800-year-old castle overlooking what some call "Hungarian Tuscany". The bike ride back to Badacsony is a favorite route of many locals. Another special dinner is in store for you and an excellent winery.
After the breakfast, you will be transferred to the iconic city of Budapest. A walking tour of the city is designed to show you the authentic side of Budapest. After arrival at the Moments Hotel, you will walk to the Heroes Square, and from there, you will walk to the House of Terror Museum. This experience may be uncomfortable at times, but after the tour, you will have a better understanding of Hungarian people and their history.
You will have lunch at Menza Restaurant and then the tour will go underground. You will take the first underground transit in Continental Europe to the House of Parliament. The city tour will continue on to the market by the river and then the Dohány Street Synagogue. You will end your day with a beer at Szimpla Kert Ruin Pub.
You will continue your stay in Budapest and visit some of the famous spas if time permits. Otherwise, you will be transferred to the airport.
Caprine and similar hybrids include high-quality hybrid Caprine, Neuzer, Hauser, Merida, Giant, or Altrix bikes with 24 Shimano gears, front suspension, and light aluminum frame. The cycling on this tour is best on a hybrid bike and the ride distance are moderate enough that these bikes work well for the tour program. Bike rental is included in the tour rate. Helmets, the water bottle, the front bag, mudguards, rear rack, panniers, lights, repair kit, pump, extra tube, and Garmin GPS navigation are included.
Pedals are flat or with cages. You may bring your own clipless pedals to have installed.
Both are single and tandem options. These are the most comfortable kayaks for entry and medium level paddlers. Sea kayaks are the perfect choice at Balaton, as sometimes it has many waves thanks to its size and winds. They are generally five-meter long with backrest and steering rudder. Watertight compartments help to ensure your daily gear stays dry.
