After walking, sightseeing, and taking breathtaking pictures, you will enjoy swimming and picnic break under the great Skradinski Buk waterfall.

After this relaxing first part, you continue your cycling day by exploring the countryside surrounding the Krka National Park. There is hardly a better way to get around the area of the park than cycling. This biking route will lead you through Croatian history all the while enjoying the landscape of forests and hills.

You will bike to the shores of Visovac Lake where the boat will take you to Visovac Island and a Franciscan monastery. Day 6: Trekking in the Paklenica National Park and Zadar town sightseeing

If there ever was a morning worth getting up early, this is that morning. Your small expedition leads you into Paklenica National Park, the most famous trekking, and rock climbing national park in Croatia. It covers the area of torrent flows of Velika and Mala Paklenica and their distinctive canyons carved vertically into the southern slopes of Velebit and the broader surrounding area.

This relatively small area has an abundance of exceptional diversity of geomorphologic phenomena and forms, diverse flora and fauna, attractive landscapes, and intact nature. Having adapted to the geographic and climatic environment, the residents mostly engaged in nomad stock herding, which is confirmed by mountain shepherd residences.

The fact that many people stayed in mountain residences in the summertime is reflected in the ruins of numerous sacral buildings: churches, chapels, altars, holy hills, and measures. The name Paklenica probably derives from black pine sap called “paklina”, which the locals used in traditional medicine for wound treatment, light, and coating of wooden boats.

Hiking is the only way to really get to know Paklenica. Finishing your fabulous day in the Paklenica National Park, you continue your journey to visit Zadar, a beautiful old town on the Adriatic coast. In the past several years, Zadar town has become an outdoor exhibition, attracting people from all demographic structures. It is really worth seeing and experiencing.

  • Activities: van drive for 75 minutes, hiking for three to four hours, and Zadar sightseeing for two hours
  • Meal plan: breakfast and dinner

Day 7: Rafting Cetina River and visiting Split or Trogir Town

You will drive south towards a little village near Omiš where your adventure on the Cetina River begins. Clear, green water, jungle-like forests, caves, and waterfalls will thrill you and make this rafting trip an unforgettable experience.

Cetina is easy enough for families and absolute beginners. The trip ends at Radman Mills, a national restaurant in a beautiful setting of old mills once powered by the waters of the Cetina River. After an optional lunch, you continue to Split or Trogir (depending on group decision).

In Split, you are free to walk around its popular palm tree promenade and visit the Roman emperor Diocletian’s palace, a UNESCO World Heritage Site built in the fourth century, or Trogir, another UNESCO site, an old town with fairy-tale streets and stone houses of incredible architecture filled with works of art and warm ambience.

  • Meal plan: breakfast and dinner

This great Croatia active trip is based in a small picturesque town of Skradin. It is a unique town on the very edge of the Krka National Park. The town is famous for its turbulent, 6000 years old past. It is one of the oldest Croatian towns which has begun writing its history since the time of the Illyrians. It received its name during the Roman rule, Scardona.

After the Roman Scardona had been ruined and robbed to the very foundations, therefore, the Croats rebuilt the town and named it Skradin. Today, it is an attractive tourist destination with an authentic stone town core. Its location is in Central Dalmatia, within a region known for its long beaches and pine woods. Croatia is where mountains and the Pannonian plains come together in a unique blend of natural beauty.

Within just over a hundred kilometers, you can experience an exciting range of different landscapes. Located in the South of Central Europe, Croatia is easy to reach by all means of transport: air, car, bus, train, or ferry lines from most countries. Besides enjoying your favorite outdoor activities, you will love other things as well.

As the hostile war activities ended in 1996, Croatia again became a very safe country for travelers while a low crime rate makes it one of the safest places for visitors. Although a small country, Croatia has a rich variety of beautiful landscapes and preserved natural areas from mountains to plains and from rivers to the sea with a long and rich history. Croatia is alive with well-preserved old towns, castles, palaces, monuments, and native architecture.

Together with the tradition, folklore, art scenes, and music, Croatia is a unique and exotic place to discover. The industry is not big here and it has had little impact on the environment. Therefore, food is mostly organically grown and drinking water is of very good quality. Even water in rivers and wells is drinkable. Friendly, fun-loving people and their easy-going lifestyle will make your stay a very pleasant one.
