The Hotel Fontanals Golf is located in Soriguerola, in the Cerdanya. A unique place in the province of Girona. A short distance from the town of Alp, its location, in the Campo Fontanals Golf, invites you to relax, play golf and do all kinds of activities in nature. In winter, it is an ideal place to ski in the nearby ski resorts of La Masella-La Molina, and Les Neiges Catalanes, across the border.
As soon as you enter the hotel you will find a welcoming welcome: an open space with the same reception, bar, and lounge environment, where modern and rustic materials come together creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. In the outside, you can enjoy the terrace and the pool, breathe the fresh air of the Cerdanya and relax. Two minutes away you will find the impressive facilities of the Center Cenit Cerdanya Sports and Health.
The trip starts in Barcelona, the meeting point will be at Estación de Francia at 10:00, where the staff will welcome you. You will then depart towards the destination, the Pyrenees. The trip will take about two hours.
Arrival at the hotel, check-in, briefing of the routes and preparation of the bikes, after that you will have lunch and you will have the afternoon free to stroll or enjoy a bike ride around the area.
You will leave the hotel and head towards Llivia, a beautiful village in France but with Catalan administration. This is a curious situation given the famous Treaty of the Pyrenees with France. You will then continue on to Llo, famous for its thermal baths. This stretch is relatively easy.
From Llo, you will head towards Eyne ski resort. From here, you will cycle up to coll de la Llosa and coll de la Creu along the winding roads which run through lush forests. Continuing until you reach Matemala lake and Les Angles, cycling down along Coll de Egat, a magnificent balcony from where you can contemplate the beauty and extension of La Cerdanya valley.
You will leave the hotel and head up towards the Collada de Tossas to then descend for about 35 kilometers. Reaching Ribas de Fresser. To then head to Campdevanol, cycling a few kilometers along the national road towards Gombren to then take a winding road set amidst lush forests.
You will then reach Pobla de L´Illet and will attack the famous Coll de La Creueta, a category 1 mountain pass which you have seen many times in the Spanish Vuelta.
You will cycle through the Pla de Anyella, surrounded by beautiful fields, stopping for lunch and then you will cycle straight back to the hotel, end of the day.
On this day, you will leave the hotel to cycle through the western part of the valley, heading towards Alp, continuing through Prats until you arrive at Bellver de Cerdanya, along very quiet roads and with hardly any traffic you will arrive at Martinet.
You’ll start climbing up to Coll de Lles, arriving at the small and charming mountain village of Ardovol, then you will cycle down to Prullans, where you will stop for lunch and then you’ll continue the route along the main road until you reach Puigcerda, the hotel and that’s it until tomorrow.
Today, you will attack the well-known mountain pass of El Pailhères, which is one of the stages of the Tour de France. This is the toughest route, with a high degree of difficulty, but you can do it. Today, you will leave a little earlier, as you have 146 kilometers ahead with a positive altitude difference of 3,225 meters.
The route will take you towards Porte - Puymorens to complete the first pass of the day, from where you will head towards Axs Les Thermes. In just a few kilometers, you’ll come to Coll du Palhières, and then you’ll head towards Mijanes, Querigut. Continuing until you reach Les Angles ski resort, a stop for provisions and then the rest of the route is either flat or downhill until the hotel.
Breakfast, check-out, and transfer to Barcelona, end of the adventure and services.
