Experience a Vernonia Springs adventure with a three to four-hour bike ride on the famous Banks-Vernonia State Trail. Look forward to cruising through the forests of the Oregon coast range and along creeks, rivers, and lakes. Breathe deeply and enjoy the fresh clean air of the rainforest! Afterward, enjoy a healthy and tasty dinner. Enjoy the campfire at night and watch the stars from within your luxury yurt.
Vernonia Springs' yurt glamping and wall tent rentals are truly something special and redefine what yurt glamping is all about! If you enjoy yurt camping, take it to the next level by renting one of the luxury glamping yurts.
Each of the five yurts is 200 square feet and exceptionally clean and well-maintained. Each yurt has a queen bed, quality comforter, sheets, pillows, and towels. Also included is heater, lighting, and power to recharge your phone and or computer. Complimentary WiFi is included.
The canvas wall tent is the highest quality available (more wall tents coming in the future). The 12' x 12' (144 square feet) wall tent is set up on an elevated platform and supported by a rough sawn cedar internal frame. All the wood was harvested and milled locally. This is as good as it gets for tent glamping!
The tent includes queen air bed with memory foam top (very comfortable), quality comforter, sheets, pillows, and towels. Also included is lighting, power, and complimentary broadband WiFi.
Enjoy a super nice and comfortable electric cruiser bicycle, allowing you to relax and enjoy the Banks-Vernonia State Trail with ease. You must be 16 years old to ride an electric bike in Oregon.
Vernonia Springs does have pedal bike packages available as well. Something to consider if they don't have enough electric bikes or someone is underage.
Vernonia Springs is an eco-friendly private park located at the base of the Northwest Oregon coast range halfway between Portland (35-45 minute drive) in the Willamette Valley and Cannon Beach on the Oregon coast (45-60 minute drive).
Banks-Vernonia State Trail is the first “rails-to-trails” linear state park built in Oregon. The trail follows an abandoned railroad bed that stretches 21 miles between the cities of Banks and Vernonia. Most of the route consists of an eight-foot-wide hiking and bicycle trail paralleled by a four-foot wide horse trail.
The gentle grade in all but one area allows hikers, bicyclists, equestrians, and people of all abilities to enjoy the scenic mountains, fields, and forests of Washington and Columbia counties.
Trail views include two 700-foot long, 80-foot high railroad trestles (Buxton and Horseshoe). The Buxton Trestle, which has a new deck and guardrail, is open to hikers and bicyclists. A ground-level equestrian bypass crosses Mendenhall Creek. The trail also has 13 bridges.
During this cycling holiday, your dinner and breakfast are included in the price. Enjoy freshly made thin crust wood-fired pizza and garden fresh salad. Wake up to a made to order breakfast. During happy hour, you will be provided with Oregon-made beer, wine, kombucha, and locally sourced hors-d'oeuvres. Other soft drinks are also available.
There is so much to see and do in this area. Vernonia Springs is located six miles from downtown Vernonia and 15 miles from the city of Banks. Other nearby outdoor activities include hiking, golfing, kayaking and more.
The City of Vernonia (population 2100) at one time was home to the largest douglas fir mill in the world (Oregon – American Lumber Company).
You will find most everything you need in town including several restaurants, bars, a well-stocked grocery store and hardware store. The Vernonia Pioneer Museum is actually quite interesting and worth visiting when you ride your bike into town.
Vernonia Springs is an easy 45-minute drive from downtown Portland. Portland is a beautiful city and well known for its many restaurants, micro-breweries, and live music. Depending on traffic, you will be approximately one hour from the Portland International Airport. Lightrail is an option for getting you to Hillsboro from the airport which is less than 30 minutes from Vernonia Springs.
Vernonia Springs' favorite city on the Oregon coast is Cannon Beach which is approximately one hour from Vernonia Springs. If you have the time to venture west it would be well worth the trip. Cannon Beach features some amazing restaurants and lodging as well as several beautiful state parks. The views are breathtaking! The venue is also very close to the City of Seaside which has many fun things to offer as well.
